Hormonal treatment works by giving the body hormones that tell the undescended testicle to move down into the scrotum. These hormones help the muscles and tissues relax so the testicle can move into the right place on its own.
It is usually suggested when both testicles haven’t come down or in some cases to try helping the testicles move down on their own before thinking about surgery. It’s mostly used for young boys but isn’t the usual treatment for most cases.
