Paraphimosis is an emergency and needs urgent medical treatment
Your doctor will first try to reduce the swelling and gently move the foreskin back over the head of the penis.
If reducing the swelling is not possible, a small cut may be made in the tight ring of foreskin to release the pressure. Further treatment, including circumcision, may be recommended if there is a risk that the problem will happen again.
To help prevent paraphimosis, always move the foreskin back to its normal position after pulling it back.
