Medications for penile curvature

Some medications can help reduce pain or slow down the worsening of penile curvature, especially in the early stages. Your doctor will let you know if this is a good option for you.

When are medications prescribed?

Medications are usually considered if the curve is still mild, if you aren’t able or don’t want to have surgery, or if you want to try treatment first. They may help with discomfort, but most cannot make the curve completely straight or stop the plaque from forming.

Medications can be given in different ways: taken by mouth, injected into the penis, or applied to the skin.

This chapter contains general information about the treatment of penile curvature. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment. Always consult your doctor or healthcare provider for guidance on your individual medical situation.
